The Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona Collection – Your Path to Luxury

Rolex introduces the new-generation Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona, which has been enhanced across every aspect. The unique design of the case and face has defined the chronograph from its very beginning, and it has now been revisited with minor improvements to a number of aspects. The dial has a new graphic balance, and the harmonized color combinations emphasize the distinction between the dial and the counters - or their rings. The Oyster case has been modified and the light reflections on the lugs and case sides enhance its shape. The Cerachrom bezel is bordered with a thin band of the same metal as the central case on versions with a Cerachrom bezel.

The Cosmograph Daytona's unique look and technological superiority have secured its popularity far beyond the motor racing circuits. In honor of the watch's 60th anniversary, Rolex is revisiting the complete collection. The Cosmograph Daytona in 950 platinum, a famous and iconic watch, now has a clear case back and an oscillating weight made of 18 ct yellow gold.

The Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona, like other Rolex watches, is Superlative Chronometer certified, ensuring superb performance on the wrist.

Grace of Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona Watches

The Cosmograph Daytona was introduced in 1963 to fulfill the needs of professional racing drivers. Now this iconic chronograph, equipped with a tachymetric bezel and a high-performance mechanical movement wholly invented and built by Rolex, is the timepiece of choice to determine time intervals as well as determining average speeds.

The Cosmograph Daytona is now equipped with the calibre 4131, which was introduced this year. The updated chronograph movement, an advancement of calibre 4130, features a number of key advances introduced to Rolex movements, especially the Chronergy escapement. Aesthetics have received special attention. The calibre has a cut-out oscillating weight and wholly unique finishes, specifically on the bridges, which are adorned with Rolex Côtes de Genève, the brand's execution of a well-known watchmaking decoration. Calibre 4131 allows the Cosmograph Daytona to measure time intervals using the chronograph function, along with displaying the hours, minutes, and seconds.

The Cosmograph Daytona, through its name and functions, has an inherent connection to the world of motor sport and, 60 years after its debut, continues to enjoy unequaled prominence among sport chronographs.

Precision and Prestige in One Timepiece

The 950 platinum edition of the new-generation Cosmograph Daytona, distinguished by its icy blue dial, is fitted with a monobloc Cerachrom bezel in chestnut brown ceramic. The Cerachrom bezel is black ceramic on the Oyster Steel model with a white lacquer dial & the watch in 18 ct yellow gold with a golden dial and brilliant black counters. The recessed graduations, numerals, and decorations on the tachymetric scale are molded and then PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) plated with a lightweight coating of platinum or yellow gold.

Rolex was a pioneer in the development of specific Ceramics for the production of monobloc bezels and bezel inserts. These materials are not only virtually scratchproof, but their hues have a remarkable intensity and are resistant to environmental influences. Furthermore, the high-tech ceramic is harmless and will not corrode due to its chemical composition. Rolex has established proprietary expertise and unique manufacturing procedures that allow it complete independence in the manufacture of all these ceramic components.

The Cosmograph Daytona in 950 platinum now has a sapphire case back with an anti-reflective coating, allowing you to observe the designs on the mechanism and the rotating of the swinging weight.

The Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona, like all Rolex watches, is covered by the Superlative Chronometer certification. This designation certifies that every watch that leaves the brand's workshops has passed a series of tests conducted by Rolex in its own laboratories using its own criteria, following the official certification of the movements by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). After casing the movement, the in-house certification tests apply to the completely built watch, ensuring superior performance on the wrist in terms of precision, power reserve, waterproofness, and self-winding.

The new-generation Cosmograph Daytona's 40 mm Oyster case, a paragon of toughness and dependability, guarantees waterproof to a depth of 100 meters (330 ft). The central case of the three variations shown is made of solid Oyster Steel, 18 ct yellow or Everose gold, or 950 platinum. Its finely fluted case back is hermetically screwed down with a special tool that only Rolex watchmakers may use to access the movement. Along with the chronograph pushers, the Triplock winding crown, which is equipped with a triple waterproofness system and is secured by an inbuilt crown guard, screws down firmly against the case. The crystal is composed of scratch-resistant sapphire and has an antireflective coating. The waterproof Oyster case offers the best protection for the movement it houses.

Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona – A Timeline of Racing History

The calibre 4131, a chronograph movement created and manufactured solely by Rolex, powers the new-generation Cosmograph Daytona. This self-winding mechanical movement is a technological distillation that gives exceptional performance in terms of precision, power reserve, convenience, and dependability. It incorporates a chronograph function with fewer components, which improves the movement's reliability. A strong mechanism with a column wheel and vertical clutch engages it, allowing for an instantaneous and exceptionally precise start. The bridges of calibre 4131 are decorated with a Rolex Côtes de Genève motif that differs from the classic Côtes de Genève motif by the inclusion of a tiny polished groove between each band.

Calibre 4131 has the revolutionary Chronergy escapement, which combines exceptional energy efficiency and durability. This escapement is made of nickel-phosphorus and is resistant to severe magnetic fields. The movement is outfitted with a Rolex blue Parachrom hairspring made of a paramagnetic alloy. The hairspring is very stable in the face of temperature changes and has a high shock resistance. It has a Rolex overcoil, which ensures the calibre's consistency in any position. The oscillator is mounted on Rolex-designed, patented high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers, which increase the shock resistance of the movement. An optimized ball bearing is installed in the oscillating weight.

Among the new-generation Cosmograph Daytona models announced this year is one in 950 platinum with an ice blue dial and an Oyster bracelet. This bracelet also accommodates the Oyster Steel variant and the yellow Rolesor version (combining Oyster Steel and yellow gold), both of which have a white lacquer dial. The 18 ct Everose gold version, which has a vivid black dial and Sundust counters, is also available on an Oyster bracelet. This three-piece link bracelet, designed at the end of the 1930s, is the most widespread in the Oyster Perpetual collection and is noted for its durability.
