Dare to Dazzle: Rolex's Fiery Charm in the Top 5 Red-Dial Watches

While red is an uncommon color that is rarely used by Rolex, the company does offer a variety of red dial watches. Red dial Rolex watches stand out from the crowd and are a welcome change from the primarily traditional and classic dial colors available from Rolex. If you like red dial watches and want to know which red dial Rolex watches are available, we have compiled a comprehensive list of nearly every red dial Rolex watch ever made. It should be noted that different dials serve a purpose for different models/versions.

Red dial Rolex watches are an excellent way to stand out from the crowd and wear something truly one-of-a-kind and exceptional. Because red isn't a color that Rolex frequently uses for its watches, many red dial Rolex watches have become scarce and valuable.

This 36mm no date model is made of Oystersteel and has an Oyster bracelet and a smooth domed bezel. The dial is coral red with luminous hands and index hour markers. The Rolex Calibre 3230 self-winding automatic COSC Superlative Chronometer certified movement has a power reserve of 70 hours.

Day-Date 36 18038 red Stella dial

Rolex provided brightly coloured lacquered dials, nicknamed 'stella' by Italian collectors, as an option for the Day-Date in the 1970s and 1980s. This choice was not very popular. After all, to afford a Day-Date, you had to be a gentleman (or woman) of substantial riches, and it seemed doubtful that a person of that stature would wear a gold watch with such a loud, dare we say flashy, dial.

As a result, stella dial Day-Dates are now highly collectable. This 18038 has a stunning Ferrari red stella dial. The watch is packaged in the traditional Day-Date style, with a 36 mm 18k yellow-gold case and matching fluted bezel, as well as an 18k yellow-gold President bracelet.Rolex's calibre 3055 self-winding movement is housed in the 18038, which has a single quickset mechanism that allows for separate adjustment of the date disc. The watch is in excellent condition, with a crisp case and a tight President bracelet, and it comes complete with the original papers.

Day-Date 36 118238 Rubellite stone dial

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date "President" 118238 is encased in 36mm of 18k yellow gold, surrounded by a rubellite dial with diamond markings, and is accompanied by an 18k yellow gold President bracelet. Hours, minutes, seconds, day, and date are all included in this double quickset Rolex Day-Date. This Rolex watch is similarly 12.2mm thick and 43mm long from lug to lug.

The Day-Date 36 model, reference number 118238, exudes opulence with its distinctive Rubellite stone dial. The Rubellite stone dial gives a striking burst of color and elegance to this intriguing timepiece, which combines horological skill with the beauty of nature. The dial's warm and brilliant colors provide a particular personality to the watch, upgrading it from a mere timekeeping accessory to a true statement of polished taste. The Day-Date 36 118238 is a watch that combines precision engineering with the mesmerizing natural beauty of the Rubellite stone dial. It is a tribute to both artistry and sophistication.

Day-Date 36 18038/18238 red vignette dial

The Rolex Day-Date 18238 is the first Day-Date watch to feature a dual quick-set function. This reference is quite similar to its predecessor, the 18038, however it has a 3155 movement that has been updated. This makes the watch much more user-friendly by allowing the date and day to be adjusted individually.

To this day, the Day-Date represents style, richness, and grandeur. 18K yellow gold is used for the thick 36 mm case and the crisp fluted bezel. For its age, the well-known and exquisite president strap shows little to no stretch. This lovely Day-Date has a red vignette diamond dial with baguette diamonds at 6 and 9 o'clock.

Many watch collectors love the well-known Stella dial, which comes in a variety of vibrant colors ranging from bright yellow to rich purple. Stella, a corporation situated in Chatelaine and Geneva, inspired the name. After the dials from Stern, one of the largest dial manufacturers, arrived at the workshop, Stella applied a special lacquer / coating to them in a complicated and time-consuming process.

Vignette is another name for a dial like the one on this Datejust. Many collectors would not refer to this dial as Stella, but it is important to remember that the creation method requires the same technology. The only difference is that when the lacquer is applied, the dial is on a spinning platform. More lacquer is carefully applied to the outside edge to darken it. This creates a unique gradient that transitions from the original brilliant color in the center to an almost dark color on the outside edge.

In 1956, the first Day-Date, often known as the ''President,'' was introduced. To this day, it is Rolex's hallmark status watch. When Rolex released the Day-Dayte, it was the first watch to display the day at 12 o'clock and the date at 3 o'clock at the same time. The well-known President tyre, which first arrived on the market in 1966, is another element of the Day-Date. This is almost as well-known as the watch itself. However, the President bracelet became unofficially known as the ''President'' after Rolex presented a Day-Date to US President Dwight Eisenhower.
